Gluten-Free Soups — Menu Plan Nov. 20

Posted by: | Comments (0)

This month’s Gluten-Free Menu Swap theme is Soups, Chilis, and Stews — perfect for the cooler fall weather.

The holidays are officially here! We’ll celebrate Thanksgiving this week. We’ll make lots of food, eat too much, and still pack up the leftovers. Leftovers are great for soups. Use your turkey carcass to make stock. Add leftover vegetables and meat, some herbs and/or spices, and you have a wonderful remake of a warm, tasty meal.

Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving this week, with a healthy gluten-free meal, and some time to relax with your friends and family. And for some lighter meals this week, why not try some of these gluten-free soup recipes?

Gluten-Free Stew — Menu Plan Nov. 13

Posted by: | Comments (0)

This month’s Gluten-Free Menu Swap theme is Soups, Chilis, and Stews — perfect for the cooler fall weather.

I love a good Beef Stew with potatoes and carrots. I like to get it together in the morning and put it in a slow-cooker for a warm, hearty meal that’s ready when everyone gets home for dinner.

I went online to search for other gluten-free stews that might be just as satisfying as beef stew, but with other meats and flavors. What do you like to put in your stew? Don’t forget to check labels of anything you’re putting in your stew to confirm that it’s gluten-free.

Gluten-Free Stew Recipes:

Chicken Stew with Butternut Squash and Quinoa @ Iowa Girl Eats

Chili is great for quick meals, slow-cooker meals, high-protein meals, and fill-you-up meals. Make a double batch, and put half of it in the freezer for next month’s busy holiday season.

This week, I found some wonderful gluten-free chili recipes with a wide variety of flavors. Just be sure to check all your ingredient labels to make sure you’re eating gluten free. Don’t forget that broth and other canned or bottled ingredients can have gluten in it.
