schoolsnacksIt’s still Back-to-School Month at the Gluten-Free Menu Swap. This week, we’re sharing ideas for gluten-free after-school snacks. Lots of good ideas that would be good snacks to send to school, too.

My kids always need a little extra energy at the beginning of the school year. So, I like to have something quick and easy for them to eat when they get home. It gives them a little a break from schoolwork before they get started on their homework or head out the door for activities.

Last week, I shared some great recipe links for smoothies, which are easy, tasty ideas for after-school snacks. But, the easiest snack of all is fresh fruit and veggies. I know the kids would probably prefer to reach for the cookies or the candy bowl, but I think they’ll enjoy these yummy, healthy snacks just as much:

Melissa shared her recipe for no-bake Cliff bars. For dinners, she is starting the week with Spaghetti and Meatballs for dinner, and is making garlic bread made from Udi’s hot dog buns. Funny, I was thinking of doing the same thing with an opened package of Schar hot dog buns. 🙂 She’s also making Hawaiaan Hula Chicken, which sounds interesting, Burgers, Chicken Fried Rice, and Tamale Pie.
