Wow, July was a crazy month for us! We were incredibly busy with family, travel, and house projects. Looks like we get a break only in travel for August. Family visits and house projects will continue. And, we’ll be preparing for the start of school next month: health check-ups, replenishing school supplies, finalizing school and after-school schedules, and stocking up on gluten-free snack foods. Too much to think about…. At least for now I have a menu plan for this week.
Monday – Pizza
Hoping to try a new recipe for a pizza crust from the new cookbook “Gluten Free Every Day” (More on that next week.)
Tuesday – Grilled Steaks
Grilling steaks and serving with baked potatoes and broccoli.
Wednesday – Chicken Makhani
Trying another new recipe this week: Chicken Makhani (Indian Butter Chicken) in the crockpot. I found the recipe at A Year of Slowcooking, and I’m looking forward to trying it.
Thursday – Leftovers
Need to clean out the refrigerator, so all the leftovers get pulled out for a make-your-own-meal buffet.
Friday – Garlic Shrimp Pasta
Simple supper of shrimp sauteed with butter and garlic and served over rice noodles.
Sunday – Burgers and Hot dogs
We’re hosting a celebration of family birthdays. Keeping it simple by grilling burgers and hot dogs, while other family members bring the side dishes. I’ll have to come up with some kind of yummy gluten-free birthday cake.
