The Gluten Free Menu Swap is here this week and the theme is “Something New.” If you’re like me, trying to keep the foods simple to please the kids, often feels boring and repetitive. I often try new recipes and products to change things up a bit, but still keep some of our favorites in the week’s menu.
I don’t always have the time and energy for “something new” at dinnertime. So, I’ve decided to put the slow-cooker to good use this week to help me get dinners on the table on time. And I’m starting with a new recipe for Chicken Teriyaki I found at Stephanie O’dea’s Slow-Cooking website. (This weekend, she posted some great tips about using a slow-cooker.)
I’m also trying to increase my kids’ interest in eating fish again. So, I’m going to try a recipe for Fish Sticks at Elana’s Pantry. Are you trying anything new this week? Link up or share them in the comments. Check the roundup below to see if other bloggers are sharing Something New this week.

Celiac Family’s Menu This Week:
Monday – CrockPot Chicken Teriyaki with rice and sauteed green beans.
Tuesday – Burgers served on some new gluten-free hamburger buns (The Grainless Baker) I found in the frozen foods section last week.
Wednesday – Chicken Tacos with corn tortillas, lettuce, olives, avocado, etc.
Friday – Chili and cornbread
Saturday – Grilled Steaks served with baby potatoes and spinach salad
Sunday – Leftover Buffet
Gluten Free Menu Swap Roundup
Angela from Angela’s Kitchen just got back from vacation, but she still has a great menu planned for her family. Thanks to the planning she does as Once A Month Mom, she has plenty of meals already prepared to pull out of the freezer: Tangy Tomato Beef, Slow-Cooker Sweet and Sour Chicken, Pork Roast with Apples and Pears, to name just a few. Be sure to check out what she has planned for lunches, too!
Kimberlee at The Peaceful Mom cooks gluten-free for her daughter who has a wheat allergy. This week she’s making GF Lasagna Bake, BBQ Chicken Nachos, Crockpot Chili, Chicken Stirfry, and more. She also shares her delicious ideas for breakfast and lunch.
Rachel of Rachel Cooks is joining us this week with a full menu of tasty gluten-free meals. Tacos, Cheesy Chicken Casserole and Chicken Stroganoff are a few of the gluten-free offerings this week. Like the rest of us, she is using her slow-cooker this week, too. She’s using it to make Homemade Tomato Soup.
Samantha at So Simply Good shares her gluten-free/paleo menu with us this week. I am particularly interested in her Chipotle Chili, but the Rosemary Apple Butter Pork Loin and the Chicken and Vegetable Lo-Mein on her menu look pretty good, too.
Lisa at Extraordinary Life was disappointed to find that the gluten-free food she needed to purchase at the store for lunches this week had been snatched up by another GF family. Fortunately, she has a dinner menu plan that’s going to get her through the week. This week’s menu includes Homemade Hamburger Helper, Chicken and Dumplings, Chicken Fried Steak, and more.
Emily at Our Frugal Happy Life shared a new recipe for a good-looking Stuffed Pepper Casserole that looks like it makes enough to enjoy leftovers for lunch, too. On her menu this week is Grilled Pork, Fiesta Chicken, Cheeseburger Pie, plus a few other good ideas you’ll want to check out.
Paige at Not Missing a Thing! has allergy friendly meals that are gluten-free, dairy-free, and egg-free. This week she and her family are traveling and taking meals with them to reheat at family-members’ homes! She’s taking Spaghetti and Meatballs, Oven-baked Chicken Drumsticks, and another slow-cooker recipe from Stephanie O’Dea – Asian Peanut Butter Pork Tenderloin.
One last entry to the roundup from Amanda at Gluten Free Detroit Metro, who is now trying to remove dairy and egg from their gluten-free meals. So far, her menu this week includes Grilled Fish, Fajitas, and BBQ Chicken Pizza. She could use some help with egg-free/dairy-free meals, so if you’ve got recipes or ideas, send them her way.
