Mushrooms – Gluten-Free Menu Plan October 21

By · Print This Post Print This Post

MushroomsFor this week’s Gluten-Free Menu Swap, the theme is mushrooms. I walked by the mushrooms at the grocery store a couple weeks ago, and realized that I hadn’t purchased any for a while. Lately, my grocery shopping is done so quickly that I often end up just picking up the usual ingredients. This week I’ll be adding mushrooms to my shopping basket — probably some baby bellas and white buttons.

I also tend to think about mushrooms as we get close to the holidays. Mushrooms can really add a nice flavor to gravies and casseroles. Here are some links to gluten-free recipes and products to get you started thinking about that:

Mushrooms are plentiful at Angela’s Kitchen this week with Burgundy Mushroom Stew, Supreme PizzaCrock Pot Chicken CacciatoreLemon Tilapia with Spinach and Mushrooms, and Ultimate Beef Stroganoff. And if you think that’s a lot of mushrooms, she has a list of a dozen more recipes with mushrooms on her menu post this week.

The Peaceful Mom: Simple Gluten-Free Menu
I don’t see mushrooms in Kimberlee’s meals this week, but she has plenty to keep her family warm on these cool fall evenings. She starts the week with Black Bean Chicken Chili, Roast Beef, and Beef and Veggie Soup. Then, finishes the week with BBQ Chicken Nachos, Spicy Black Beans, and a Crustless Quiche.

Hello thanks for hosting! I find that mushrooms go great in the morning with eggs and spinach for my hubby before work.

Hi, Heather! Thanks for hosting this week. Here is my menu: http://angelaskitchen.com/2013/10/21/menu-monday-october-21-2013/ Still catching up from family craziness the past couple of weeks, but excited for the mushroom-heavy menu. I love those tasty things!

Hi Heather. I’ve been away for a while but here is my menu.

I was interested in the mushroom inspired week and wanted to make sure to participate.

I’m in the process of rebuilding my site. You now can add comments! I remember that you tried a while back and there wasn’t a place for it. I’ve started using the domain glutenfreeweek.com instead of theglutenfreeweek.com. Slow progress!

I’ve been a bad girl this week. No menu plan, but I am off of work until Monday so I can “wing-it”. I did get some mushrooms today and hope to make Chicken Marsala this week. I also got some really nice looking leeks that my husband will make into potato leek soup. It’s is GF but certainly not dairy free. The soup is very tasty though.

I hope to catch up with you next week.

Amanda – Glad you could stop by, even if you don’t have a menu this week. The Potato Leek soup sounds very tasty. Have a great week!
